The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced additional security procedures at the sites of its upcoming basketball championships.
Spectators will be prohibited from bringing the following items into facilities hosting nationally televised NCAA championship practice and competition: phones, emergency pagers, cameras, video recorders, televisions, radios, coolers, bottles, cans or other containers. Other items may also be prohibited.The NCAA and host institutions will conduct an education campaign to inform the public of the security measures being taken.
The campaign includes signs in the vicinity of the championship sites and in staff and team hotels; mailings to ticket-holders when possible, and information distributed at sites of advance-ticket sales.
During all games at the Jon. M Huntsman Center fans who utilize a paging service may make arrangements to be notified by leaving their name, section, row and seat number with the paging service located at Room 113, Portal 3.
