William Hansen Wight, 79, died Friday, March 8, 1991 at an Ogden hospital, following a car accident.
Born March 23, 1912, in Brigham City, a son of Jesse Lowen and Helen Mable Hansen Wight. Married Dorothy Hendrickson, April 14, 1938 in Ogden, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died January 1, 1987. He later married Ruby Gonzales Vigil, March 30, 1989; she died with Bill, March 8, 1991. Attended schools in Brigham City and Union, Oregon. Had worked in the lumber industry in Union, Oregon and Susanville, California. He retired from Federal Civil Service, Sierra Ordinance Depot, June 1971. He was a High Priest and active member of the Brigham City 12th LDS Ward.Survivors include, two sons, one daughter, Wendel H. Wight, Omaha, Nebraska; Rodney Jesse Wight, Sandy, Oregon; Mrs. Ben (Darlene) Vose, Beaverton, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Baxter and Mrs. Mary Mitchel, both of Union, Oregon. Preceded in death by a sister, Erma Thomas and a brother, Lowen Wight.
A joint funeral service for Bill and his wife, Ruby, will be held Wednesday, March 13, 12 Noon, 12th Ward Chapel, 620 North 300 East, Brigham City, with Bishop Thorald H. Rollins, conducting. Friends may call at the Petersen Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment: Brigham City Cemetery.
