Russell Francis Rodgers, 85, passed away March 10, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born February 1, 1906 in Salt Lake City to George Francis and Phyllis Vincent Rodgers. Married Ethel June Wright, June 27, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ethel and Russell were devoted companions during their marriage of sixty-two years. Ethel preceded him in death, August 29, 1990. Employed most of his working years by Hooper Holmes, Inc., where he was the Salt Lake Manager before retiring early due to medical disability. Active in the Salt Lake Lions Club for many years where he devoted many hours to charitable service. Until physically unable, he spent much of his leisure time with his wife Ethel at their cabin on the Smith and Morehouse where they enjoyed fishing together and the quiet beauty of the canyon and nature. An industrious worker, a very capable writer and known for his good sense of humor.Survived by a daughter, Phyllis June Rodgers Jeffs and a son, Gordon Francis Rodgers, both of Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude Rodgers Lobrot and a brother, John (Jack) Henry Rodgers both of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 1 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call Tuesday evening, 6:30-8 p.m. and the hour prior on Wednesday. Interment, Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
