Gustave H. Dautel, age 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died March 9, 1991 of causes incident to age at the Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.
Born in Bietigheim, Germany, Aug. 26, 1909 to Franz Ernst and Anna Zimmerman Dautel. He immigrated to the United States in 1930. Married Hilda Spilker Dautel on Aug. 16, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a fine journeyman cabinet maker. He worked for the Salt Lake Cabinet Company and retired from the Granite Mill after 35 years. He was very active in the LDS Church, serving three stake missions, Seventies secretary, and home teacher. At the time of his death he was a High Priest. He was a talented self-taught musician, able to play the piano, organ and harmonica.He will be missed by his family, wife, Hilda; sons, Daniel, (Daleene); William; David (Diane); Steven (Dorothy); a daughter, Joanie (Richard) Hans; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Baisch; and brother, Wilhelm Dautel. He was preceded in death by daughter Charlotte Dautel Dukes; brothers, Victor, Christian, Ernst; and sisters, Emilie and Ernstine.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, at the Granger 14th Ward, 2101 West 3100 South, West Valley City, at 1 p.m. Viewing will be two hours prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City.
