-Rick Bairett chosen for EURO-NATO training:
West Valley City's Rick Bairett, a U.S. Air Force ROTC cadet at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz., has been chosen for EURO-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training.He will be commissioned as a second lieutenant during graduation ceremonies in April and was one of 61 cadets selected nation-wide for the NATO program. He is the son of Richard P. Bairett.
-"Give the Gift of Sight" program:
Lions Clubs International and LensCrafters collected more than 125,000 pairs of used eyeglasses from 400 LensCrafter stores nationwide in its recent "Give the Gift of Sight" Program.
The goal of this year's program was to collect 50,000 pairs of eye-glasses.
-Heather Bennett accepted as YFU Exchange Student:
Hether Bennett of East High School was recently accepted by Youth for Understanding International Exchange as an international exchange student. She will live in Switzerland-Germnay this summer on YFU's program.

-Anna Papulack receives degree:
Salt Lake's Anna Paulak recently received her bachelor's degree of science in nursing from the School of Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
