Beloved sweetheart, eternal companion, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gertrud Widdenhofer Romboy, returned home to her Heavenly Father March 14, 1991, at the U of U Medical Center, after enduring a lengthy illness.

She was born July 26, 1907 in Cologne, Mulheim, Germany to Peter and Gertrud Hupperich Widdenhofer. Married Hugo E. Romboy June 2, 1926 in Cologne; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 2, 1953. She is preceded in death by her son, Helmut Romboy. Active member of the the LDS Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, visiting teacher and Relief Society president in Germany. She was loved by many.Survived by husband, Salt Lake City; daughter, Doris G. (husband, Kenneth) Killpack, Salt Lake City; son, Dieter Romboy, Ellensburg, Washington; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services on Monday, March 18th, 11 am, Edgehill 2nd Ward Chapel, 1750 South 1500 East Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Sunday evening 6-8 p.m., and at the Ward on Monday, 10-10:45 a.m. Burial, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
