Mervin Alma Richins, age 71, died Thursday, March 14, 1991 at his home in Henefer.

He was born October 23, 1919 in Henefer, a son of Horace Hillman and Elsie Maude Dawson Richins. He married Virginia Marie Forbes in Fresno, California on July 20, 1944; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He received his education and graduated from North Summit School District. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Air Force. Member of the VFW. He had been a meat manager and buyer for Keith Warsaw and Grand Central Markets. Also worked for Paskett & Richins Meat Processing. Former member of the Meat Cutter Union. He had work for Henefer City Water Dept. He was a member of the Henefer 1st LDS Ward. While living in the Salt Lake City area, he was a member of the Holladay 6th Ward, had served in the bishopric, assistant Scoutmaster, and ward clerk. In Henefer he had served as Sunday School president, home teacher, and assistant stake clerk in the Coalville Stake. He enjoyed all sports especially baseball and basketball.Surviving is his wife, Henefer; one son and one daughter, Stanley Mervin Richins, Salt Lake City; Virginia Richins, Henefer; six grandchildren; also surviving are three brothers, H. LaMont Richins, Harold Richins, Seldon D. Richins, all of Henefer.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, 11 a.m. in the Henefer Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Henefer Cemetery. Funeral directors: Walker Mortuary, Morgan, Utah.
