A Salt Lake woman was raped and held hostage in her own apartment for three hours early Thursday morning.
According to a police report, the woman, 23, was returning from work when she heard someone call to her from a car outside her apartment building. She thought she knew the man, but as she got closer she realized he was a stranger.The woman told police she turned away quickly and moved toward her apartment. The man caught up with her, grabbed her keys and forced her inside.
The woman said the man spoke to her as if he knew her, mentioning a Jazz game she had attended, a club she had visited and her place of work.
The man reportedly told the woman that if she had any venereal disease, he would kill her. He raped her repeatedly, and left after three hours.
