Local writers interested in writing romance novels are invited to attend "Love Lines," a free writing workshop co-sponsored by the Utah Chapter of Romance Writers of American and the Salt Lake County Library System.

The workshop is scheduled Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. at the Whitmore Library, 2197 E. 7000 South, Sandy. Those wishing to attend are requested to pre-register by calling 943-4636.Shannon Brailsford, recipient of the Golden Pen Award from the Romance Writers of America will present the main address titled, "Changes of the Heart: Trends in Romance Writing."

Following her talk, participants may choose to attend two of the six workshops being presented by published romance authors. The workshops will include "Writing the Historical Novel" led by Lisa Bingham and Elizabeth Lane, "Writing the Regency Novel" led by Danice Allen, "Writing the Contemporary Novel" led by Kathy Lloyd and Kristin Burton, "Writing the Romantic Suspense Novel" led by Dorothy Keddington and "Writing the Mainstream Novel" led by Florence Bowes.

"The workshops will include tips, techniques, traumas and sound advice for writing romance novels," said Jerry Aldrich, assistant library manager.
