Harris "Vince" LeRoy Vincent, age 73, died suddenly March 19, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a result of a cardiac arrest.

Born October 12, 1917, Salt Lake City, the son of Daniel Harris and Hulda Amelia Nilsson Vincent. Married Ina Reynolds, January 16, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Graduated from South High in 1935. Attended the University of Utah where he played Varsity Football and Basketball. Served an LDS mission to the Tongan Islands, 1937-1940, where he served as Mission secretary and assisted in the translation of the Book of Mormon into the Tongan language. A retired salesman with 40 years service at Graybar Electric Co. Served two LDS Stake missions. High Priest in the Waterloo Ward, Wells Stake. Served eight years in the Bishopric and as Sunday School president, YMMIA president ward and stake, Scoutmaster, Sunday School teacher. He also served as a volunteer with the Community Action Program. An avid golfer and quilter, he greatly enjoyed card and board games. His wisdom, sense of humor and love will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.Survived by wife, two sons, Harris Reynolds Vincent, Salt Lake City; Theron Reynolds Vincent, Broomfield, Colorado; three daughters, Mrs. Michael D. (Janet) Harrison, Ponca City, Oklahoma; Shauna Mae Vincent and Melodie Ina Vincent, both Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Lynn (Ruth) Gritton, Riverside, California; Norma Wilding, West Valley City; Mrs. Ray (Elaine) Hermansen, Murray; Mrs. Roland (Lois) Senior and Robert D. Vincent, both Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 23rd, 12 noon, at the Waterloo Ward, 1623 South 500 East. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Friday from 7-9 p.m., and at the Ward Saturday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
