WIDOW OF UTILITY WORKER FILES PENSION CLAIM

The widow of a former utility company worker has filed a pension claim that contends her husband, an electrician, died from on-the-job exposure to electromagnetic fields.

Mimi Pilisuk, 39, of Seattle, filed the claim with the state Department of Labor and Industries. Her lawyer, Michael Withey, said the claim may be the first of its type in Washington state.Pilisuk's husband, Robert Pilisuk, died in 1989 at age 44 from pneumonia brought on by acute leukemia.
