Elmer Nickolai died March 20, 1991 in a Salt Lake hospital of surgical complications.

Born April 26, 1926 in New Castle, Colorado to Fred and Mildred Irene Getchel Nickolai. He married Merle Marie Davidson March 30, 1950; they had three children, Steven Michael, Phillip Paul, and Mrs. Katherine Marie Scott. They were divorced in 1965. He married Loraine Long Price September 7, 1969; they have a son, Jeremy Lee, and daughter, Sherry Lynn Price.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1947. Retired from Civil Service in 1983, and was currently employed by the Vinnell Corp at Dugway. He has been employed in various occupations throughout his life, as a rancher, a miner in various mines in Colorado and Utah--worked one of the last mining crews at Lark, Utah before it closed. Elmer owned his own business and worked as a welder and carpenter. Former president of the National Association of Government Employees, Local R14-9 for two years. Member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Helen Hayner and May Marie Lehr.

Survived by his wife, Loraine; his sons and daughters; and three grandchildren, Tamara, Jennifer Nicole, and Elissa Katherine; a brother, Kenneth; two sisters, Alma Nickolai, and Mrs. Berdetta Knight; two half brothers, Henry O. Lehr, and Vernon I. Lehr.

Services will be held Monday, March 25th, at 10 a.m., at the Post Chapel in Dugway. Friends may call one hour prior to service at the chapel. Interment in the

Wanship Cemetery at 2 p.m.
