In the first game of the week long Riverside Baseball Invitational, the BYU Cougars rolled to an 11-6 victory over Lafayette. Lafayette scored four runs in the first and a run in the second and fourth innings to take a 6-0 advantage. The Cougars were down going into the sixth inning, but scored two runs in the sixth and three in the eighth to pull within one run.
In the ninth inning BYU battled for one run to tie the game and send it into extra innings. BYU scored five runs in the tenth to blow the game open and win 11-6.Ryan Hancock got the win as he pitched a scoreless ninth and tenth inning. Hancock gave up no hits and struck out five in two innings.
