Karl Edward Hofmann Jr., 72, died March 23, 1991, Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born October 12, 1918; son of Margarete Albisser and Karl Edward Hofmann of Basel, Switzerland. Married Ruth Johanna Cammack on May 1, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various callings including Ward Clerk, Cubmaster, president of Seventies Quorum, Stake Missionary, Stake Mission president, Bishop of the Kenwood 1st Ward, Name Extraction Supervisor and Trainer.He is survived by his eight children; Phyllis (Keith) Tondro, Susan (ElDean) Gale, Wayne (Tina) Hofmann, Ralph Hofmann, Karl (Debbie) Hofmann, Lewis (Linda) Hofmann, Beth (Roger) Brox, Jean Hofmann; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Emil Hofmann, William (Lue) Hofmann, Ronald (Pat) Hofmann; four sisters, Rosa Resch, Nelly (Chet) Clark, Ruth Woolley, Betty (Bud) Eatchel. Preceded in death by one brother and three sisters and wife.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon, March 27, 1991 at the Kenwood 1st Ward, 3080 South 1765 East, Salt Lake City. Family and friends are welcome to the viewing at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive on Tuesday evening 6:30-8 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
