A preliminary hearing for an ex-stockbroker accused of diverting nearly $1 million from WordPerfect Inc. and from a local woman has been scheduled for three days in June.

Utah County Attorney Kay Bryson and defense attorney Wayne Watson met with 4th Circuit Judge Lynn Davis Wednesday afternoon to set a time for the hearing for Stanley Erb, 44, now living in Phoenix, Ariz.Davis set the hearing for June 20, 21 and 24.

Erb is charged with two counts of second-degree unlawful dealing of property by a fiduciary and third-degree communications fraud.

Erb is charged with diverting to himself about $500,000 that Orem-based WordPerfect had Shearson-Lehman invest and $400,000 that Sandra Hansen had entrusted to Shearson-Lehman. The communications fraud charge is based on allegations that Erb conveyed documents to the victims to conceal the existence of the crimes.
