Our dear aunt Alice Ann Scott Smith, died at Doxey Hatch Nursing Home, in Salt Lake City, March 2, 1991 of natural causes. Previous to entering Doxey Hatch, she spent over 20 years at a Salt Lake senior citizens residence, where she enjoyed her relationships with many close friends.

She was born December 8, 1900 in Salt Lake City, to John Walter Scott and Ingry Olson Scott. Alice was the last survivor of her family siblings: others were Jennie and Walter. She married Albert Smith, September 23, 1953 in Salt Lake City. He died August 15, 1967. Alice considered her nephews children as her own, because of her close relationship with them. She devoted many years caring for them. She was also very proud of her work as a volunteer grandmother at the Sumner Elementary School.She is survived by her nephew, Arthur A. Scott and his wife, Nell, grand nephews, and grand nieces, W. Alan Scott, Betty J. Scott and her husband, Gordon Busenbark, Nancy K. Scott Crandall and her husband, Steve Crandall, Robert A. Scott, and two great grand nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at Mackay Deseret Mortuary Chapel, 36 East 700 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, Salt Lake Cemetery.
