Rudger J. (R.J.) Barson, 77, died at his Clarkston home, Friday, March 1, 1991 of a heart attack.

He was born March 7, 1913 in Clarkston, son of Dennie Birdell and Anna Elizabeth Rasmussen Barson. He married Helen Erickson October 31, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple. Lifelong resident of Clarkston. He farmed in Clarkston and Raft River, Idaho. He was active in mineral and oil exploration and development. Member of the LDS Church. He served on the Clarkston Town Council.Survived by his wife; two daughters, four sons and their spouses, Faye and Joseph Loosle; Janet and David Nelson; Dennie and Kathy Larson; Richard and Jerri Barson; Robert and MerLynn Barson; Ed and Valerie Barson, all Clarkston; also survived by 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother,

Arron V. Barson, Salt Lake City; and brother-in-law, Norman D. Loosle, Clarkston. Preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, a grandson, and a sister and brother.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 12 noon, in the Clarkston Ward Chapel, with Bishop John H. Clark conducting. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North, in Logan, and at the church Tuesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Clarkston City Cemetery.
