James Louis Seal, age 87, our loved and respected father and grandfather, passed away March 27, 1991 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

He was born January 25, 1904 in Riverton, Utah, a son of Henry and Fannie Louisa McGuire Seal. He married Mildred Angel in Sandy, Utah on May 28, 1937. Mildred preceded him in death on October 7, 1960. Mr. Seal was reared and educated in Riverton, Utah and graduated from Riverton High School in 1922. He graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. He taught Mechanical Drawing and Wood Working at the Jordan High School in Sandy and retired in 1969 after a 42 year teaching career. Mr. Seal was responsible for much of the development of the Industrial Arts educational program for the State of Utah. He was a lifelong member of the Utah Education Association, a member of the Midvale Kiwanis Club for 25 years and a member of the LDS Church. In 1989, he moved to Oklahoma to live near his daughter.Survivors include: daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Shauna) Agnew, Ramona, Oklahoma; grandson, Peter Garret Merkel, Fort Collins, Colorado; granddaughters, Miss Megan Lee Merkel, Thornton, Colorado; Miss Patricia Anne Merkel, Ramona, Oklahoma. Preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 1, 1991, at 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Jordan Education Foundation, 9361 South 300 East, Sandy, Utah, 84070, in Mr. Seal's name.
