The long arm of the law didn't have to reach very far to collar a would-be car thief, New York police said. A grab across the front seat ended the joyride before the getaway even got going. Where the miscreant made a mistake - a big one, officers said - was in trying to steal a police car with a policeman in it. Officer Daniel Daly, who was sitting in the passenger seat of the idling blue and white police cruiser, popped handcuffs on the perpetrator after a brief struggle. Aundray Burns, 26, faces a litany of charges in the Thursday incident.
