Every woman's nightmare came true for a Salt Lake County woman Wednesday night, deputy sheriffs said.

A 26-year-old woman said she was beaten as she entered her home by a man she said has been stalking her since November and has been calling her repeatedly at both her places of employment. She said that in phone conversations, the man referred to things only someone following her would know, a sheriff's report states: "Hi, why did you drive your father's car today?" "How did you enjoy your weekend trip?" Finally Wednesday night he called her and said he would "hurt her very soon," she said.

The woman asked someone to walk with her to her car after work but when she arrived home at 11:50 p.m., she got out of her car, shut the door, turned to lock it and as she turned back around toward her home, the man was standing in front of her.

The attacker grabbed her and started "punching" her in the face, arms and chest and repeatedly kicked her, the report said. He said, "I told you that I was going to hurt you; you thought it was a game and it isn't a game."
