Family: Married to Vivian Dickson. Eight children - two married daughters, one son on a mission for the LDS Church and five children still at home: Jammie, 22; Tracy, 21; Lee, 19; David, 18; Erin, 16; Tera, 13; Thad, 12; and Jared, 10. Four grandchildren.
Education: Attended Brigham Young University.
Occupation: Recorder for the Salt Lake Temple for 13 years.

Politics: My present position is non-partisan.
First "real" job: LDS Seminary and Institutes - production artist in the production and distribution department.
Management style: Hire or appoint people with competency you can trust and then don't try to do their job for them.
Why I like being mayor: It's an honor to be a contributor in a form of government that leads the world in ensuring the sacred rights of its citizens from national level to the local level.
Why I hate being mayor: I don't.
Recipe for success: Remember that I am employed by the people and that I am their servant.
A memorable failure: As mayor, trying to convince the Davis County Council of Governments that Woods Cross City has a project that qualifies for federal Community Development Block Grant money that we recently applied for and didn't receive.
Heroes: The previous mayors of Woods Cross and the many public servants I've had the honor of associating with in Woods Cross City.
Leisure: Reading, family history research, gardening and any activity where I can participate with my family.
Favorite book: Too many to number.
Favorite movie: Any clean movie where the good guys win.
