Marguerite Smith Burbidge, 95, passed away in her home of natural causes on March 1, 1991.

Born October 29, 1895, in Salt Lake City, three months before Utah became a State, to Enoch and Ellen Livingston Smith. Married George William Burbidge, October 20, 1920. He passed away March 18, 1951. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eugene Smith Burbidge.Active in the LDS Church, she served with her husband as mission president in Tahiti and in numerous church callings in Sugarhouse and Ensign Wards including Relief Society president. She was an active independent insurance agent throughout her life. A wonderful caring mother and grandmother, she will be missed by her family and friends.

Survived by son, Dr. George S. Burbidge; two daughters, Mrs. Allen (Elaine) Bandley and Mrs. Jay (Louise) Rencher; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Eugene (Alice) Burbidge; two brothers, Enoch Smith, Jr. and Louis L. Smith; four sisters, Mrs. Alma (Helen) Burton, Mrs. James (Florence) Cullimore, Mrs. David A. (Ruth) Buchanan and Mrs. Dale (Mary) Wilde. She has 24 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Lavinia Glade, Luella McDonald, Charles W. Smith and Wallace L. Smith.

Funeral services are Wednesday, March 6th, 12 Noon, in the Ensign 4th Ward, 9th Avenue & K Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Tuesday 6-8pm, and at the Ward Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, send chocolate chip cookies to your neighbors.
