Contracts with the three public defenders who represent indigent criminal defendants in Davis County were extended through June 30 in action Monday by the Davis County Commission.
Four contracts were extended, with one attorney's contracts for both adult and juvenile offenders extended.Contract extensions for $13,750 each were granted to attorneys Steve Vanderlinden, Scott Holt and Stephen Oda. In addition, Vanderlinden's contract to represent indigent defendants in juvenile court was also extended, totaling $8,300.
Commission chairman Gayle Stevenson said the contracts will be reviewed prior to their June 30 expiration date. The contracts can also be canceled before that, with 30 days' notice, he said.
