Dorothy Hyllen Hall Grow, 71, of Salt Lake passed away February 28, 1991 of cancer.
Born April 21, 1919 to Gustav F. and Ingrid Jensine Christensen Hyllen in Salt Lake City. Married Harlan Howard Hall October 21, 1937 in Salt Lake City; he preceded her in death January 5, 1970. Married Vern M. Grow September 14, 1971 in Salt Lake City; he preceded her in death July 27, 1989. West High graduate. Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where Dorothy resided in the 26th Ward for 30 years and served as a Primary teacher and Relief Society chorister. Dorothy always loved serving as an election judge and being chairperson for the Mother's March of Dimes. Dorothy was PTSA president and was active in PTSA for 22 years. Dorothy was truly an incredible woman, mother and grandmother who loved all of her children and had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by all of us.Survivors: Two daughters, Mrs. William W. Wilson (Harlene), Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Richard R. Holtz (Patricia), Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren, Tricia L. Wilson and Bill D. Wilson, both of Salt Lake City; two stepgrandchildren, Kristina J. Holtz and David R. Holtz, both of Boise, Idaho; four stepchildren, Sharon Grow, Mrs. H. Mervyn James (Marlene), Mrs. Dennis Hanson (Janice) and Vern H. Grow, all of Salt Lake City; a brother, Paul Hyllen, Longwood, Florida; and a sister, Mrs. Eddie Erben (Marian), Cleveland, Ohio; numerous stepgrandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to a charitable organization of your choice.
Graveside Funeral Serivces will be held Thursday, March 7th, 12:30 p.m., at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and `N' Street (Enter Main Gate, proceed on Main, turn on Hillside and follow to top, turn East). Friends may call 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East First South.
