Golden Heber Rigby, 92, died March 3, 1991 at his residence in Newton.

He was born September 14, 1898 in Newton, the son of George Clark and Mary Clarke Rigby. He married LaVerne Barker on June 14, 1922 in the Logan LDS Temple. She died March 28, 1983. Received his education in the Cache County Schools and attended B.Y.C. He owned and operated his farm in Newton and was active in many church auxiliaries throughout his life time and was director and chairman of the Farmer's Grain Co-op and a member and chairman of the ASCS County Committee.Survived by son and six daughters, Jay Golden and his wife, Helen Rigby, Newton; Flora and her husband, Leland Bird, Salt Lake City; Margene and her husband Lynn Bradshaw, Rupert, Idaho; Joan and her husband, Al Nissen, Petaluma, California; Barbara and her husband, Seth Bird, River Heights, Utah; Frances and her husband, Norman Ravsten, Clarkston, Utah; Mary and her husband, Gordon Jenkins, Newton, Utah; 35 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; brother, Milton T. Rigby and wife, Jeanne Rigby, St. George; sisters, Mrs. William R. (Liberty) Brown, Mrs. William (Gwen) Swinyard, both Salt Lake City; preceded in death by three grandchildren; three sisters and six brothers.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 7, 1991 in the Newton LDS Ward Chapel, 12 noon, with Bishop Gary L. Jorgensen conducting. Friends may call the Nelson Funeral Home in Logan, Wednesday evening 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and at the Newton Ward on Thursday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment: Newton City Cemetery.
