Contrary to what some people may believe, there were women in Utah in the 19th century who could be categorized as "feminist" in their views.

At a Thursday, March 7, Southern Utah University Convocation, Dr. Patricia Truxler Aikins will examine the ways some of these women focused on the difficulty of making moral decisions in a man's world in her presentation "Geography of the Heart: Utah Women Writers and the Utah Renaissance."Aikins' lecture, at 11 a.m. in the auditorium, is part of SUU's observance of Women's History Month. The lecture is free.
