Mark D. Howell has been named executive vice president and manager of First Security Bank of Utah's Commercial Banking Group and elected to the bank's board of directors.
A 13-year veteran of First Security Bank, Howell served as senior vice president and manager of the Credit Division, as well as president and chief executive officer of First Security Mortgage Co.He succeeds Louis A. Harris, who was recently elected president and chief executive officer of First Security Leasing Co.
A native of Salt Lake City, Howell graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's degree in business administration.
He is a member of Robert Morris Associates and is former secretary of the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, the former Christine Ingleby, are the parents of seven children.
