Robert J. Parsons, professor of health administration at Brigham Young University, has received the Marriott School of Management's 1991 Outstanding Faculty Award.

"Bob has received several excellence in teaching awards. His work with students is outstanding," says Dean K. Fred Skousen. "In addition, he has done solid research that has resulted in a substantial number of articles in professional and refereed journals.""His service as an associate dean is indicative of his administrative abilities. We are grateful to have him serving on the faculty," Skousen said.

Parsons was selected because of his contributions in the classroom, research, writing and his citizenship in serving in various administrative and committee assignments, Skousen said.

At a recent dinner in his honor, Parsons received a $1,500 stipend and a plaque.

A graduate of BYU and the University of Michigan, Parsons has also served as chairman of the BYU department of managerial economics. His fields of interest include health-care economics and marketing and strategic planning.

Parsons' awards at BYU include outstanding professor for three consecutive years and the National Advisory Council Outstanding Professor Award.

He is currently president-elect of the Utah Society for Planning and Marketing, and he serves on the community advisory board for the Women's Health Services and the advisory council of Utah Center for Health Statistics.
