The Utah County Child Abuse Council is searching for candidates for its "Child Advocate of the Year" award. Individuals, businesses and organizations have until March 25, to nominate someone they believe has positively contributed to the children of Utah County.Nominees may be serving children in either a professional or volunteer capacity - such as a doctor, teacher, youth leader, social worker, police officer or volunteer - anyone who has gone far beyond the expectations of his/her job requirements or volunteer activities. These outstanding citizens will be honored at a luncheon in April as part of national and statewide "Child Abuse Prevention Month."
Nomination forms are required and can be obtained by mailing your request to "Advocate," Utah County Child Abuse Council, P.O. Box 2114, Provo, UT 84603. The final deadline for submitting the completed nomination form is March 25.
The Utah County Child Abuse Council is a non-profit organization made up of concerned citizens, representatives from state and local agencies and private businesses. The council promotes community involvement, communication and interagency cooperation to encourage the effective use of scarce community resources for children and families.
