Frank Fredericks, BYU's all-America sprinter, will likely race against Notre Dame football star Rocket Ismail, among others, when he competes in the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend in Indianapolis.

Fredericks has qualified for the national meet in both the 55- and 200-meter dashes, and Ismail has qualified in the 55.Fredericks is one of seven BYU athletes who have qualified for the meet. The others are: Dave Brannon (pole vault), Per Karlsson and Leif Lundahl (weight throw), Kartei Leppaluoto (shot put), Shu-Hwa Wang (long jump) and Anu Kaljurand (hurdles).

Several other Utah collegians will compete in the meet: Utah's Traci Olsen (high jump) and John Schieffer (mile), Weber State's Brad Barton (3,000 meters) and Shauna Turner (shot put), and Utah State's Craig Carter (weight throw).
