Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday for Stanley Peter Bowman, 69, a Salt Lake Tribune reporter for more than 30 years, who died of natural causes March 6, 1991, at his Salt Lake home.
The rites will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery under direction of McDougal Funeral Home.Mr. Bowman joined the Tribune in 1947 while attending the University of Utah and worked there since that time, except for two years on active duty in the Naval Reserve during the Korean War, until his retirement in February 1981.
His assignments at the newspaper included general reporting and rewriting material from other reporters, and he regularly covered events at Hogle Zoo. He was the Tribune's promotion manager from 1959 to 1962.
Mr. Bowman worked as a radio repairman in the U.S. Army during World War II.
