It's been years since police officers were commonly harassed by being called "pigs," but it's only been a few days since three Sandy officers were confronted by one.
Three officers responding to a domestic dispute call had entered a Sandy home and were making their way down a darkened hallway when they encountered a large, black pig - and the animal wasn't too pleased to have them in the house."I don't know that much about livestock, but I guess it was about 250 pounds plus," said Sgt. Craig Pederson. "He appeared to be aggressive. If you got in his way he moved you. He had big, large teeth."
"He didn't take a bite out of anyone," Pederson said, "But after we saw him take a bite out of the (couch) cushion . . . . "
Officer Tim Berhow herded the pig into the kitchen with a chair.
