Salt Lake Community College earned its first trip to the Scenic West Conference tournament finals after upsetting Utah Valley 81-79 in overtime in the tourney semifinals Friday.

The Bruins' Jachu Richardson hit two free throws late in the overtime to seal the win. Zack Allison had 27 points and Lindsay Familar added 25 for Salt Lake. Kevin Nixon had 28 points for the Wolverines.Salt Lake, a dark horse entering the tournament with an overall record of 15-15, will play defending champion Southern Idaho in Saturday's finals.

The Golden Eagles, ranked 4th nationally, edged Eastern Utah 78-76 Saturday to take their 120th consecutive home-court win, a streak dating back to 1984.

Southern Idaho iced the win when LaRay Shepard sank the second of two free throws with eight seconds left to play. David Anderson led Southern Idaho with 28 points and Antoine Davison had 24 for Eastern Utah.
