The Navy on Friday awarded an $18.4 million contract to Thiokol in Brigham City to produce 968 rocket motors for the HARM AGM-88 tactical missile.

The office of Sen. Jake Garn, R-Utah, said the motors are to be completed by July 1993, and the money for the contract is available immediately.Garn's office said 89 percent of the contract is for the Navy, 8 percent for the Air Force and 3 percent for Spain.

The HARM missile is listed in "Aerospace Facts and Figures" by the Aerospace Industries Association as an anti-radiation weapon.
