Eleven additional state Medicaid organizations have agreed to pay for Norplant contraceptives for eligible women.

Norplant is a new system of matchstick-length, hormone-releasing capsules that are inserted under a woman's skin on her upper arm. Twenty-one states, including Utah, now have approved Norplant as a birth control method.Norplant has been available in Utah since March.
