A West Valley youth was seriously injured when a gun his friend was playing with accidently discharged.

Andrew Valdez, 14, was shot in the neck Thursday about 3 p.m. and is in serious but stable condition at Primary Children's Medical Center. The two were in a house with a .357 caliber pistol and "pointing it" at each other when the accident occurred, police said.
