A Pleasant Grove woman has filed a 4th District Court lawsuit saying she is suffering pain and discomfort as a result of work performed by a Spanish Fork dentist and that he made improper sexual advances toward her.
Angela Vuksinick filed the suit April 23 against Brent D. Hansen. Vuksinick says that from January 1987 until her last treatment Hansen was negligent in his dental care and in his prescribing of medication.Hansen and his brother Kent, also a dentist, face a hearing in July on their licenses for similar allegations brought against them more than a year ago by another female patient. The Hansens have offices in Spanish Fork and Murray.
In her suit, Vuksinick charges that Hansen performed substantial, unnecessary and prolonged dental work, prescribed and administered unnecessary medication and made improper sexual advances while performing dental work. Vuksinick also says that Hansen altered and destroyed some of her dental records.
The State Dentists and Dental Hygiene Board will hold a hearing July 22 to review the Hansens' licenses. The board could either revoke the Hansens' licenses, place them on probation or clear them of any wrongdoing.
The hearing is the result of a petition filed in 1989 by the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. Soon after the petition was filed, the Hansens' licenses were suspended. However, the licenses were restored after it was determined that the Hansens were denied due process.
