Adam Joseph Cook, age 11, died May 23, 1991 at the University of Utah Hospital.
Born July 30, 1979 in Salt Lake City to Marian Beth Huntington and Howard Leigh Cook. He was a fifth grade student at Howard Driggs Elementary School. He had also attended school at Ensign Elementary and Viewmont Elementary in Murray. He played on numerous soccer and basketball teams where his height and athletic skills were appreciated. He participated in Cub Scouting and Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid sports fan and especially supported the Utah Jazz. Adam was described as a boy with a big body and a big, generous, kind, and sensitive heart. He was cheerful, energetic, friendly, tough, observant and inquisitive. He had a sparkle in his eyes and a contagious smile. He was loyal and loving to family and friends.Surviving are parents, brother, Geoffrey, grandparents: Gary and Beth Huntington and Mrs. Robert W. (Colleen Leigh) Cook; uncles and aunts: Doug and Wendie Huntington, Paul Huntington, Robert and Becky Cook, and Leanne Cook Christensen and Darrell Christensen; cousins: Hunter Huntington, Heidi, Kenzie, Eric, and Kelli Christensen, and Michelle Cook. Preceded in death by Uncle Joseph Huntington and Grandfather Robert Watkins Cook.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 1991, at 3 PM in the Murray 32nd Ward, 5425 South 600 West where friends may call 2 hours before the service. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America and/or Murray Recreation in Adam's name.
