Tel America, 324 S. State, a full-service long distance telephone company, reports a 29 percent increase in sales in the first quarter of 1991 over the comparable quarter a year ago. John Kennedy, marketing director, attributes the increase to the recession and the growing Utah business climate.

During a recession, he said, businesses reevaluate their overhead and begin to cut costs including long distance telephone costs. "Many find Tel America offers the quality and service with the lowest rates," he said.
