Beloved husband and father, Franklin Ross Jensen, 67, passed away May 25, 1991, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 6, 1924 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Bertha Y. and Joseph F. Jensen. Married Norma Wright on September 15, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Ross served in the U.S. Navy for four years during WW II. He then served an LDS mission to Brazil from 1946-49. After graduating from Utah State in Industrial Arts, he worked as a general building contractor in Pasco, Washington until 1961.
From 1961-65, he served a work mission in Brazil for the church. From 1969 until his retirement in 1989, he worked for the Church Building Dept. overseeing the construction of 73 chapels throughout parts of South America and the Far East. The highlight of his work was supervising the construction of the Sao Paulo Brazil Temple dedicated in 1978.
Ross is survived by his wife, Norma and their four children, Janis Nielsen, Spanish Fork; Allen R. Jensen, Salt Lake City; Joyce Doughty, Boise, Idaho and Andrew C. Jensen, Salt Lake City. Also survived by nine grandchildren, and six sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 1991, at the West Bountiful 5th Ward Chapel, 840 North 800 West, West Bountiful. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, at the church from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Lake View Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful.
