Former Salt Lake physician Carvel S. Evans, 85, died April 30 in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Evans specialized in internal medicine and was a member of the LDS Hospital Staff. He also was a past commander of the 328th General Hospital, U.S. Army Reserves. He served as a hospital ship commander during World War II.Dr. Evans was a past member of the Salt Lake Lions Club and Salt Lake Executives Club. He was active in genealogical research and also enjoyed square dancing and folk dancing.
Funeral services are set for Saturday, May 4, 1 p.m., at MacKay Deseret Mortuary Chapel, 36 E. 700 South. Viewing will be Friday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, one hour before the funeral. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
