Bessie Mildred Johnson Larsen, 79 died May 7, 1991 at her home in Midway.
Born November 10, 1911 in Midway, Utah to Nels Joseph and Mary Ann Orgill Johnson. Married William N. Larsen October 1, 1930 in Midway, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died June 29, 1984. Mildred was loved by all who knew her. She had a keen sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served faithfully as a literature teacher and organist in the Relief Society and Primary teacher for many years. She was a member of the D.U.P. She loved to read and as her eyesight failed she listened to books by the hour. She loved music and played the piano. Her family spent many happy and treasured hours singing together around her piano. She crocheted baby afghans for all of her children and grandchildren and each new baby in the ward received one of her beautiful creations. She wrote short stories and poetry and did beautiful oil paintings and shared them with friends and family. She loved her family and they loved her and will miss her.Survived by children, Laurence and JoAnne Bonner, Boise, Idaho; Neil and Dorothy Christensen, Sandy; Wilma L. Anderson, Midway; Melvin G. and Zora Larsen, Summit Park; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, George W. Johnson, Midway; Ralph J. Johnson and Elizabeth (Beth) J. Newby, both Salt Lake City; Lucille Whiting, Springville; Loretta Sherwood, Bountiful.
Funeral services Saturday 1 p.m. at the Midway 1st Ward (200 S. 250 E.). Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary Friday, 6-8 p.m. and at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Burial, Heber City Cemetery.
