The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the calling of Stephen D. Nadauld, 49, of Ogden and Han In Sang, 51, of Seoul, Korea, to the Second Quorum of the Seventy, effective June 1.
Elder Nadauld has served the past year as vice chairman and chief financial officer of Bonneville Pacific Corp., an independent developer of major power projects. He was president of Weber State College from 1985 to 1990 and was instrumental in obtaining university status for the school.Elder Nadauld has held several LDS Church positions, including serving as a bishop in the church's video worship services, which are produced for the VISN interfaith cable television network.
Elder Han is the first Korean called as a general authority. He has served as regional manager for temporal affairs in the church's administrative office in Seoul. He previously managed the Church Seoul Distribution Center and has also been translations supervisor for the church. At age 27, Han was the first Korean to serve a full-time mission in Korea during which he translated the Book of Mormon into Korean.
Han was also the first Korean native to serve as a mission president and the first to serve as a regional representative.
