MORE UTAHNS HEAD TO GULF

Just when you thought Utah's manpower contributions to the Middle East were ending - they aren't.

Air Force Reservists from the 419th Tactical Fighter Wing were deployed to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Saturday night to support the American effort to stabilize the Middle East. Now that the fighting apparently is over, the project designation has reverted from the name Operation Desert Storm to the earlier Operation Desert Shield. The 405th Combat Logistics Support Squadron, part of the 419th Tactical Fighter Wing, sent 18 men and women from Utah and Idaho to help with supply efforts at the air base in Riyadh for 60 days. Earlier the squadron sent personnel to Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., and Westover AFB, Mass., in support of Middle East peacekeeping efforts.
