AM.F. PAIR ARRAIGNED ON PYRAMID CHARGES

An American Fork couple charged with four counts of promoting a pyramid scheme, third-degree felonies, pleaded not guilty to the charges Friday in 4th District Court.

Judge Cullen Y. Christensen set trial dates for Matthew Peterson, 36, and Nita Peterson, 33, for July 10 and 11.The Petersons' attorney, Mark Stringer, said his clients have worked out an agreement with the county attorney's office but the agreement will be delayed until the outcome of a trial against Sally Ann Hall, a co-defendant in the case. Hall, 45, Pleasant Grove, will stand trial July 8 on five counts of operating a pyramid scheme.

The Petersons, Hall and five others are charged in connection with the operation of Family Star, a multilevel marketing company.
