Juab County commissioners appointed Glenn Greenhalgh, county economic development director, as the new county computer coordinator.
In March, commissioners did away with the position but in April, Commission Chairman Richard Brough recommended an evaluation of the current computer-management system by Dave Cloward of Hawkins, Borup, Cloward and Co., Orem. After meeting with a number of officials and employees in various county offices to understand their computer-management needs and ideas, Cloward recommended in May that a coordinator be hired.
Cloward reported that each department handled its own computer problems and interface with the software support vendor on an individual basis. "This is a very inefficient and ineffective method of handling the computer management function," Cloward said.
Greenhalgh will act as coordinator, a part-time job, and will continue to act as economic development director as well.
