Richfield will pay the Pavement Maintenance Co. of Orderville, Kane County, more than $80,000 to chip-seal city streets.
The company submitted the lowest bids among three bidders for two alternate programs. One would cost $87,808 and the other $81,729.City Manager Woody Farnsworth said the type of bituminous material that will be used will determine which of the bid prices will be selected. The decision will be made by the Jones and DeMille engineering firm.
It was also announced that the city has been awarded a grant of $36,400 to replace a pump at a water well on city property at 100 East Street.
An intensive advertising campaign has increased use and revenue at the swimming pool, pool advisory committee chairman George Cox reported to the City Council. During recent years, expenses have exceeded revenues by more than $100,000 a year.
