USU SCIENTIST TO SERVE ON PARIS PANEL

Joseph K.K. Li, associate professor of molecular biology at Utah State University, is one of eight scientists invited to serve on an international molecular virology committee to meet this month in Paris.

Li is one of three scientists from the United States invited by the Office International des Epizooties in Paris to join the committee, which will work in conjuction with the International Conference on Bluetongue Virus, African Horse Sickness and Related Orbiviruses, June 16-21 in France. Li has also been invited to present two lectures at the conference.The recommendations of the team of scientists will be used to understand the molecular structure of the viruses and to devise technologies to inactivate or eliminate the viruses from animals.
