A motorist lost control of his pickup truck at high speed on I-15, killing the driver and a passenger who was the son of a Utah publisher, the California Highway Patrol said Wednesday.
Passenger Edward Hogun, 20, was ejected from the truck, said CHP Officer Brian Kilmer. He was airlifted to San Bernardino Community Hospital, where he died.The driver, whose name was being withheld until relatives could be contacted, died of massive injuries after arrival at Victor Valley Community Hospital, Kilmer said.
Hogun was the son of Donald E. Hogun, publisher of The Daily Spectrum in St. George, Utah. The younger Hogun and the driver of the pickup worked at the news-paper.
