Juneteenth, an independence day celebration that began in Texas and spread throughout the country to mark the end of slavery in America, will be celebrated June 22 and 23 at the 1991 Heritage Festival in the Golden Spike Arena at the Weber County Fairgrounds, 1000 N. 1200 West.

Similar to July 4 celebrations, the event is marked by parades, ethnic food, music, dance, arts and crafts, vending booths, games and fun for the entire community.
